Transcending Boundaries
Last night I was invited to, and attended the launch of Aabru Art’s Transcending Boundaries exhibition. It’s the second year of the show billed as the largest show of West African Art to ever be held in London.
I loved the works by Rom Isichei, especially Beguiled by the Red Book
Peace like a ruler by Kolade Oshinowo was very spiritual and uplifting.
I’ve recently had an education about African girls hair styles recently so I appreciated Braids by Kolade Oshinowo
But the sculptures by Bunmi Babatunde took the biscuit.
However my favourite was Kolade Oshinowo’s Asho-Ebi. It was explained to me why I see groups of people in London in the same fabric – they’re all off to the same wedding.
So I wish the team at AArbu Art the best of luck for their show and recommend a trip to the Mall Galleries for some inspiration.

Such beautiful creative imagination. I love it! Wish I’d been there!
Unique imaginative, creative skill like this is real art, just as in business.
Getting Mr Average to understand the art or the potential of a business is another matter.
Sometimes you just have to accept that however special, unique, creative and valuable the offering, Mr Average just won’t get it!
